I lost my first business to admin. Not one big thing. A pile-up.
CIPC filings I did not know were due. Provisional tax I missed. PAYE that slipped the month I hired the first employee. Clients on 60 days, suppliers on 30. By the time I caught up, the penalties were bigger than the business.
So the engines came first: invoicing that meets SARS section 20, tax drafts that read from the books, payroll that already contains PAYE, UIF and SDL, documents counterparties can sign without an account.
BMS exists so the next founder does not have to choose between staying compliant and staying open.
